Syracuse Man Arrested For Domestic Battery
SYRACUSE — A Syracuse man was arrested after causing a female to fall and injure herself to the point of needing emergency medical treatment.
Ross Richard Harvey, 23, 1022 N. Branch St., Syracuse, is being charged with domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On July 1, an officer with the Syracuse Police Department was contacted by Goshen ER regarding a battery that occurred. A female subject came to the hospital after she was battered by Harvey.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the female was retrieving some of her belongings from Harvey’s residence and a verbal altercation occurred.
The female attempted to leave when Harvey pushed her to the ground and hit her on the mouth with his hand. When she attempted to leave again, Harvey pushed the female, causing her to fall and strike her eye on a couch. The female sustained a swollen and bruised eye with a small laceration. The female then left the residence and went to the hospital.
Harvey admitted to officers that he caused the female to fall and injure herself.
He was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on July 1 and was released on his own recognizance. Harvey has an initial hearing date set at 1 p.m. Aug. 9, in Kosciusko Superior Three Court.
