Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
2:47 a.m. Friday, July 27, East Hatchery Road, west of North Eagle Trail, Syracuse. Driver: Debra A. Goldsworthy, 57, Cromwell. Goldsworthy told police she was traveling eastbound in the curves of East Hatchery Road when her vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason. Goldsworthy’s vehicle struck a pole and she was detained for suspicion of operating while intoxicated. Damage up to $5,000.
11:05 a.m. Thursday, July 26, South CR 400E, south of East CR 800S, Sidney. Driver: John A. Perkins, 39, CR 32, Auburn. Perkins told police a deer entered the roadway and that he lost control of his semi tractor-trailer, causing it to leave the roadway and roll over onto its side. The trailer was full of garbage, which had to be off-loaded before the trailer could be removed. Damage up to $100,000.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
8:58 a.m. Thursday, July 26, East CR 600N, west of North CR 975E, North Webster. Driver: Cora A. Jones, 59, North Lake Street, Warsaw. Jones told police she was driving her vehicle eastbound on CR 600 N and began to back into a driveway. She said she struck a utility pole while backing her vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
1:35 p.m. Thursday, July 26, North SR 15 and Petro Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Lindsay K. Richmond, 30, North CR 150E, Milford; Carly J. Hatfield, 30, West Church Street, Leesburg. Richmond told police she was driving her vehicle eastbound on Petro Drive, approaching the intersection with North Detroit Street. She told police she stopped at the stop sign and thought she was clear to proceed before proceeding into the path of Hatfield’s vehicle. Richmond provided incorrect identity information and was eventually arrested for false informing and driving while suspended with a prior. Damage up to $5,000.
8:57 a.m. Thursday, July 26, East Center Street and Eastlake Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Jane A. Guiff, 50, East Evergreen Drive, Warsaw; Trenton W. Duff, 17, SR 331, Tippecanoe. Guiff told police she was driving her vehicle eastbound on East Center Street and said she had a green light at the intersection of East Center Street and Eastlake Drive. She said she looked down and when she looked back up, the light was red. She was unable to stop her vehicle before it went into the intersection. Duff was turning right onto Center Street when his vehicle was struck by Guiff’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
7:52 a.m. Thursday, July 26, East Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Sheila L. Freds, 51, East Pierceton Road, Warsaw. Freds told police she was making a turn in the Owen’s parking lot when her vehicle hit a light pole. The driver told police she didn’t recall much of what happened. She was transported by EMS to Kosciusko Community Hospital for evaluation. Damage up to $5,000.
