Orlie C. Shaw, Jr.
Orlie C. Shaw, Jr., 87, Warsaw, passed away at 8:11 p.m. in his residence on Thursday, July 19, 2018. He was born February 9, 1931 in Warsaw to Orlie and Georgia (Brown) Shaw, Sr.
Mr. Shaw faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954 as an Airman First Class with 6091st Reconnaissance Fight during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Beverly Skees in Leesburg, on July 1, 1967. He was formerly employed by the City of Warsaw at the Warsaw Treatment Plant and Zimmer, Inc as Machinist in the R&D Department retiring in 1993 with 26 years of service. In addition, he was self-employed operating the family farm. He was a former member of V.F.W. Post #1126 and American Legion Post #49.
Survivors include his children Billijo Shaw of Atwood; Chris Shaw, Sam (Vicki) Shaw and Toni (Tim) Reiff, all of Warsaw; an honorary son Chad Marsh of South Whitley; a daughter-in-law Angie Shaw of Warsaw; grandchildren: C. J. Kester and Nickolas and Isabella Shaw, all of Warsaw; and Darian Kester, Orlie Bryant Shaw, all of Atwood; Kristy (Jared) Childres and Caleb and Olivia Childres, all of Warsaw. and a sister, Freda Sellers of Fort Wayne. He was preceded by his wife Beverly on Oct. 26, 2012, and a son Sgt. Jeffery Shaw on Nov. 12, 2009, and three brothers and three sisters.
Calling hours are scheduled from 4-8 p.m., Monday, July 23, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 24, in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Air Force, V.F.W. Post 1126 and American Legion Post #49.
