Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
6:08 p.m. Monday, July 16, West CR 200S and South CR 800W, Mentone. Drivers: Brittany A. Wilhite, 18, North CR 775E, Rochester; Melissa K. Lewis, 42, South CR 900W, Mentone. Lewis told police she was driving her vehicle westbound on CR 200S when Wilhite disregarded the stop sign on CR 800W and struck her vehicle in the intersection. Both drivers complained of pain and Lewis was transported by EMS to Parkview Warsaw. Damage up to $25,000.
3:08 p.m. Monday, July 16, East US 30 east of South CR 900E, Warsaw. Driver: Trevor Henry, 63, Tupelo Chase Court, Auburn, Ga. Henry told police he was driving his semi tractor-trailer westbound on US when he lost sight of the roadway, causing the semi to get sucked into a water and mud-filled ditch. Damage up to $100,000.
2:03 p.m. Monday, July 16, East State Street, Etna Green. Driver: Todd A. Swanson, 53, East Main Street, Atwood. Swanson told police that his vehicle blew a tire. He said he pulled into a parking lot and struck a building with the vehicle. Swanson was sent to Kosciusko Community Hospital for a blood and drug test because police reported he blew a .07 on the breathalyzer but could barely stand. Damage up to $1,000.
