UPDATE — Motorcyclist Airlifted After Crash On SR 25
WARSAW — A Winona Lake man was airlifted after his motorcycle rear-ended a vehicle.
At approximately 3:50 p.m. Sunday, July 8, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to the report of a motorcycle accident on South SR 25, north of West CR 200S, Warsaw.
Ryan K. McLaughlin, 37, Winona Lake, was operating a 1996 Honda VT2 motorcycle. He was traveling north on SR 25 when he failed to slow for traffic, causing him to rear-end a 2013 Dodge Dart, operated by Phillip W. Burman, 27, Warsaw.
Burman stated that he was traveling north on SR 25 following a vehicle that slowed to make a right turn. As Burman slowed his vehicle, McLaughlin’s motorcycle rear-ended his vehicle.
McLaughlin was flown from the scene by Lutheran Air Ambulance after sustaining extensive head injuries in the crash. He remains in critical condition in Lutheran Hospital.
Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Lutheran EMS also responded to the scene.
Damages are estimated at $25,000.
