Virginia M. Adams — UPDATED
Virginia M. Adams, a longtime resident of North Webster, passed away at 5:30 a.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018, in her daughter’s Warsaw residence. She was 74 years old and known to most as “Granny.”
Born Sept. 25, 1943, Virginia Adams was the daughter of Edward C. Krebs and his wife, Ruth (McFarren) Krebs. She spent her whole life in Kosciusko County and was married there to Paul T. Adams. The pair was wed on July 3, 1965, sharing nearly 33 years together before his March 1998 passing.
She was a hard worker and held several local positions. She worked for Jo Mac Glove, Newsome Cleaning, FlexSteel and Larwill products. Even in retirement, she assisted at North Webster Pizza King during the summer season.
She was a member of the North Webster American Legion, Post 253. She enjoyed craft projects such as crocheting, sewing and painting felt pictures. She also enjoyed dancing and country music as well as spending time with her family.
Those who survive include son, Richard (Cindy) Walls of Warsaw; three daughters: Sue E. Walls-Carr of Pierceton; Cynthia (Steve) Keene and Audrey (Shane) Eldridge, both of Warsaw; and sister, Valda (Ed) Harringdean of Warsaw. In addition, she is survived by her beloved dog, Patsy; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, Paul, those who received Granny into Heaven include her parents and her dog, Loretta.
Friends may call at Titus Funeral Home¸2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Monday, July 9. Her life will be celebrated in a traditional funeral service on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home with additional visitation for one-hour prior. Officiating the service is Brother Lewis and Brother Paxton of The Church of Jesus Christ, Warsaw. Burial will follow with graveside service in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
