One Airlifted, Two Others Injured After Monday Morning Accident
CLAYPOOL — Three individuals were taken to the hospital after a single vehicle crash Monday morning.
At approximately 6:57 a.m. Monday, July 2, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a vehicle accident at South County Farm Road, south of East CR 800S, Claypool.
Tiranda Stevens, 21, Pierceton, was traveling north on County Farm Road when her vehicle, a 2008 gray Chevrolet Impala, crested a hill.
Stevens’ vehicle began to slide sideways, causing her to leave the east side of the roadway. Her vehicle went through a wire fence, into a field and then rolled sideways several times. Passenger Ashley N. Blankenship, 33, North Manchester, was ejected from the rolling vehicle.
Blankenship was transported by air ambulance to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Stevens and passenger Kaden Fairchild, 4, Pierceton, were transported by Lutheran Medic 2 to Lutheran in Fort Wayne.
Stevens sustained an injury to her hip and upper leg. Blankenship complained of head pain, and Fairchild complained of neck pain.
Damages are estimated at up to $10,000.
