Kosciusko County Under Heat Advisory For Independence Day
KOSCIUSKO — The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana has declared a heat advisory for Kosciusko County on Independence Day, July 4. The advisory will remain in effect from noon until 8 p.m.
Temperatures will reach into the upper 80s to low 90s Wednesday afternoon. Heat indexes will range from 97 to 100 degrees through Wednesday afternoon.
The heat will lead to hazardous conditions particularly for the elderly, those with preexisting health conditions and pets. Little in the way of beneficial cooling will occur overnight in homes without air conditioning. Keep in mind that heat indexes are in areas with at least some shading. People in full sunshine could experience heat indices several degrees warmer.
