FORT WAYNE — The woman with the Instagram handle @DJReborn posted a video Wednesday saying she was leaving a DJ workshop at Sweetwater’s Gearfest, when she claims she was kicked off a flight out of Fort Wayne.
“I was unfairly ejected from @delta flight 4527. Just before take off the flight attendant rudely told me to put my phone on airplane mode”
That’s what a woman is claiming on Instagram after being on a flight out of Fort Wayne this past Saturday. The flight was operated by SkyWest Airlines, a company contracted through Delta.
It’s still unclear what happened prior to the video starting, but this is the woman’s claim.
She says after the flight attendant asked her to put her phone on airplane mode, she quote “menacingly” stood over her waiting.
“I told her “I know how to turn on airplane mode, you don’t have to stand over me”
She became agitated and said “If you’re gonna act like that we can go back to the gate and you can get off,”” she posted.
The woman says she asked the flight attendant how to rectify the situation, and the flight attendant told her to comply.
At that point she says the man sitting behind her stood up for the woman, and a woman a few rows away asked the flight attendant politely to sit down so they can leave.
The video stops, but the woman says the plane returned to the gate.
The post says, “Subsequently 4 adults and a little boy were ejected permanently from the flight and stranded in Indiana with no place to stay as @delta refused to put any of us,including the man with the child,in a hotel.”
Another video was posted when the they returned to the terminal.
“And why aren’t we boarding this flight “The flight attendant, she felt uncomfortable, unsafe, cause, to her, she felt you guys weren’t listening to her, she didn’t feel safe,”” the conversation between @DJReborn and what appears to be an airport employee.
In a comment from SkyWest, they say, “We take all allegations of discrimination seriously and are reviewing reports form SkyWest flight 4527 operating as Delta Connection. We are disappointed that our customers had this experience and are working with our partner Delta to follow up directly with the customers involved.”
The Fort Wayne International Airport did not provide a comment.
In another post on Instagram @DJReborn says Delta has not contacted her.
