Warsaw Community Career Center’s July Events
WARSAW — The Warsaw Community Career Center will host the following events in July. The Career Center is adjacent to the Goodwill retail store at 751 Anchorage Point Drive, Warsaw. All Career Center events are free and open to the public.
Open Practice Interviews
- Monday, July 9 — 11 a.m. to noon
- Monday, July 16 — 11 a.m. to noon
- Monday, July 23 — 11 a.m. to noon
The Goodwill Career Center will host open mock interviews for anyone who would like to practice their interviewing skills. If you’re nervous about having an interview or struggling to land a job because of the interview process, these mock sessions will prepare you for the types of questions (from basic to personal) that could be asked. We’ll discuss how to answer the difficult questions and what to avoid. You’ll also learn how to appear confident and highlight your skills in the conversation.
Another topic will be how personal appearance makes a great first impression in an interview. Please choose a date and time to stop by and practice your interview skills, and receive a 25 percent discount to the Goodwill retail store.
How To Build A Budget

- Thursday, July 26 — 11 a.m. to noon
Need a budget or want to see your finances in a clearer way? This workshop will assist you in designing a budget by putting it on paper, then entering it into a digital template. Get the numbers, set goals, see what you need to live, save, and how much your bills are with totals and averages. All information is confidential and will not be saved to our records. This workshop is designed to get you an active budget for you to personally keep, store and update.
Veterans Employment Services
- Wednesday, July 18 — 10 a.m. to noon
Daniel Reed from WorkOne will be at the Goodwill Career Center to provide information to veterans on services in the local area. He will offer one-on-one employment help, employer resources, information on benefits and contacts for further services.
Grow With Google: Using Online Apps
- Wednesday, July 18 — 11 a.m. to noon
Navigate Google products and learn how to use their digital applications with hands-on assistance, tutorials, and easy-to-do challenges. We’ll show you how to use Google Maps, and how effective and useful Google Documents and Google Drive are. If you want to save your budget, résumé, recipes, cover letter, or other personal items, then Google is a one-stop-shop for uploading, downloading, and storing all your business and personal essentials. Subway Hiring Event
- Tuesday, July 24 — 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Warsaw Career Center is hosting a hiring event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 24. Subway restaurants are hiring manager-trainees and crew members across the county, including all the Warsaw locations. They will conduct on-the-spot interviews with immediate openings. So if you’re looking to get hired quickly, Subway’s the place to check out. Subway works with those who have an adult record, but it will depend on the individual case and offense. Please come prepared to interview that day, dressing professionally, and ready to leave with a job opportunity in hand!
Technology Tips And Tricks

Want to learn keyboarding tricks that’ll save you time? What about utilizing shortcuts to get around the computer in a more useful and quicker way? Want to take a screenshot, work with zip files, or understand PDF files? This workshop will teach you technological tips to be a more effective and efficient computer user, which can help you both professionally and personally in your daily life. Stop in for this workshop and we’ll teach you how to get one step closer to becoming a master at using the computer.
