Claypool
Officers with the Claypool Police Department investigated the following accident:
4:40 a.m. Thursday, June 28, SR 15, north of West CR 350S, Claypool. Driver: John Caudill, 38, Chrysler Avenue, Wabash. Caudill’s vehicle struck a deer in the roadway. Damages up to $5,000.
Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
9:28 a.m. Thursday, June 21, South CR 350E, north of East Wilcox Road, Warsaw. Driver: Brooke Rhodes, 21, East CR 500S, Warsaw.. Rhodes was driving northbound when she looked away from the road. When Rhodes looked back up, her vehicle was off the right side of the roadway. She attempt to return to the roadway but overcorrected, causing her to lose control. The vehicle left the roadway completely and rolled, finally resting against a fence. Rhodes declined medical treatment. Damages up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
10:19 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, North Warren Street, south of West Lake Street, Warsaw. Driver: Deborah Longenecker, 60, Papau St,. Kapaa, Hawaii. An unknown white SUV backed into Longenecker’s vehicle, causing damage. The driver of the white SUV left the scene. Damages up to $2,500.
4:16 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, US 30, west of Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Carolyn Hoying, 75, Joseph Avenue, Dayton, Ohio; Roberta Greene, 62, Old Road 30, Warsaw; and Rick Hurd, 54, Blossom Lane, Warsaw. Hoying noticed the intersection light turn green and continued driving, not realizing that traffic was backed up. Hoying’s vehicle rear-ended Greene’s vehicle, which caused Greene’s vehicle to rear-end Hurd’s vehicle. Greene and Hurd both sustained injuries and were transported by EMS for treatment. Damages up to $10,000.
1:48 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 179 S. Indiana St,. Warsaw. Driver: Galen Close, 69, Blaine Street, North Webster; and Janet Warren, 86, Section Street, Claypool. Close backed his vehicle out of a parking spot and struck Warren’s vehicle. Damages up to $2,500.
5:55 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, North SR 15, south of US 30, Warsaw. Driver: Shanda Ruemler, 32, CR 26, Goshen. Ruemler advised that while turning she crossed the center line and struck a white Dodge pick-up truck. At the time, Ruemler states she did not realize an accident had occurred, nor did the driver of the truck. Ruemler continued to her place of employment and reported the accident after seeing damage to her vehicle. Damages up to $2,500.
