WARSAW — Norfolk Southern has advised the city of Warsaw that the rail gang plans to install new rail past the Dogwood Drive crossing on Monday, June 25. This work will cause a long closure of six or more hours. The exact start time of the closure is unknown.
All residents on Dogwood Drive and LaVista Drive who will be directly affected by this closure will be notified by Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory personnel today. During the closure, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory personnel will be stationed at the crossing, should any emergencies occur. In the event of an emergency, Norfolk Southern will be prepared to create emergency access over the crossing.
Any residents in this neighborhood who do not feel comfortable remaining at their home during the closure should make alternate arrangements.
Rail installation will continue northward this week through Wednesday, and will likely begin affecting other Warsaw rail crossings by Tuesday or Wednesday. Updates will be provided as they are received by the city.
