Winona Lake Eyes Busy Summer Of Activities
WINONA LAKE — Winona Lake Town Coordinator Craig Allebach told the town board and sizable audience Tuesday night, June 19, that the town is looking toward a busy couple months now that summer is in full swing.
Allebach said the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Triathlon at the park is scheduled to share the stage with the town’s numerous Independence Day-related happenings.
“There was a change in the date this year so that presents us with a full day of activities,” said Allebach. The triathlon, along with the town’s Fourth of July celebration and “Rockin’ With the Symphony” at the Tabernacle Field are all slated for June 30. The day’s events will culminate with fireworks over the lake at dusk.
On July 1, the lake will feature decorated water craft as the town enjoys the Winona Lake Flotilla, which Allebach said will be held rain or shine. The only factor that could affect the event would be lightning. The theme this year for both the Flotilla as well as the parade on June 30 will be Jungle Safari.
From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 7, will be the town’s Family Fest in the Park. Touch-A-Truck will come to Winona Lake from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 14 and the Jazz Festival at the Amphitheater is scheduled for July 28.
