Joan Utter, 79, Rochester, passed away at 1:43 a.m., Monday, June 18, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Peru.
On Feb. 10, 1939, she was born in White County to Ervin and Vesta McClellan Holcomb.
Joan and Robert Rigney were married on May 6, 1967. Sadly he passed away on May 19, 1981. Joan and Stanley Utter married on Feb. 14, 1995, in Rochester.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband Stanley Utter; a daughter, Merlinda Balmer and husband Wayne, Roann; two sons: Darrell Collins, Winamac; and Marvin Collins, Rochester; three grandchildren: Shaun Balmer and wife Kelley, Arlington Heights, Ill.; Brian Balmer and wife Crystal, Bronson Cottrell; numerous great grandchildren; four brothers: Orville Holcomb and wife Kathryn, Lowell; Keith Holcomb and Ruth Ann, Griffith; Jerry Holcomb and wife Patsy, Anderson; and Joe Holcomb and wife Barb, Plymouth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Joan Utter in death are her parents; two sisters: Sally Reed, and Vivian Mersch; and three Holcomb brothers: Harold, Jeff and Walt.
A celebration of the life of Joan Utter will be at 10 a.m., Friday, June 22, in The Church of Christ, 120 E. 5th St. St., Rochester. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 21, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester and one hour prior to the service in the church.
Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
