Doris May Bryant — UPDATED
Doris May Bryant, 90, Warsaw, passed away at 6:27 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
She was born Aug. 12, 1927, in Mishawaka, to Gertrude Mae (Likens) and Charles Theodore Billman. On May 22, 1954, she was married to Sidney Ernest Bryant, who passed away on Sept. 4, 2001.
Mrs. Bryant received a Theology Degree from Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul. Minn. She and her husband founded and served as pastor of Syracuse United Pentecostal Church, Syracuse, from 1967-1973.
She was a loving wife, mother to Nina (Vernon) Boyd, Quispamsis, New Brunswick, Canada; Patti (Buddy) Chandler, Pierceton; Judy (Thomas) Roberts, Pierceton; Jack (Sheri) Bryant, Winona Lake; grandmother to 33; great grandmother to 36, great-great grandmother of three, and friend to hundreds. Doris Bryant was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Her greatest joy was serving Jesus Christ and sharing the Gospel with everyone she met. She prayed daily that her family would serve the Lord. Her children and grandchildren rise up and call her blessed. Proverbs 31:28
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
Her celebration of life will be conducted at noon on June 21, with visitation an hour prior to the service at 11 a.m. at Community Life Center, 825 N. Harrison Street, Warsaw, and officiated by Dr. Dan Cox. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Sweet Cemetery in Albion, Indiana.
