Bell Library Announces Week’s Programs
MENTONE — The Bell Memorial Public Library in Mentone has announced it’s upcoming programs for the week of June 15-21.
Effective late last month, the library began closing on Sundays for the summer.
Story Hour is scheduled for every Wednesday at 3 p.m. and every Friday at 10 a.m. During Story Hour, children will listen to a story, sing songs and make a craft.
The library’s 2018 Summer Reading Program began Monday, June 4. The program is open to all age groups. This year’s theme is “Libraries Rock.” The program runs for six weeks and ends July 13. Participants must have a library card to participate. All students attending Tippecanoe Valley schools are eligible to receive a library card.
Movie Monday on June 18 at 3 p.m. will feature the movie “Happy Feet.” Popcorn and drinks are provided.
Kids can join the library on Wednesday, June 20 at 3 p.m. and make a kazoo and flute. Sign-up is requested.
Teens and young adults can join the library on Thursday, June 21 at 1 p.m. and make a stained glass CD mobile. This is a two-day project.
Creative Corner is scheduled for Thursday, June 21. Participants will be making a monogrammed paint stick flag to hang on their door. Cost for the class is $5 and sign-up is required. Creative Corner is for adults only, 18 years and older.
As a part of the continued development of the library’s new reading garden, the library board is offering patrons an opportunity to purchase an inscribed paver brick to serve as a memorial for an individual, family, or business. Many bricks have been purchased so far. These bricks may be inscribed with up to four lines. Each line will contain up to 12 spaces, including blanks. Paver bricks may be purchased for $100 each, and these bricks will be incorporated in the walkway throughout the outdoor area.

New DVD’s arriving soon include “Please Stand By,” “15:17 to Paris,” “Strong,” “Game Night,” “Black Panther” and “Annihilation.”
