Ronald ‘Ron’ Eugene Ogden
Ronald “Ron” Eugene Ogden, 66, Goshen, and formerly a longtime Winona Lake, resident, passed away at 7 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital of Indianapolis.
He was born on Jan. 28, 1952, in Warsaw to Donald Eugene Ogden and Wanita Faith (Reeves) Ogden. On Aug. 18, 1973. he was married to Rebecca “Becky” Jean (Bryant) Ogden, who survives.
He graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1970 and then attended Grace College in Winona Lake, where he met the love of his life, Rebecca. He began working at Endicott Church Furniture as a draftsman and eventually moved into sales, which would begin his career of revolutionizing the church furniture industry. His passion and drive for his work led him through multiple companies, including SERIES USA, where he developed the US market until he left this earth. He loved sports. He excelled at tennis, basketball, boxing, and swimming.
His passion for sports paled in comparison to his passion for his family. Patient, devoted, faithful, and loving, he showed what it means to be a husband, father, Papa, and friend. Above all, he loved Jesus. He taught many who He is, but more importantly, he showed us through the way he lived for Him. Now his legacy lives on through the lives he touched, changed, and elevated. He is with his Heavenly Father. Praise the Lord.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Rebecca “Becky” Jean Ogden, Goshen; two sons: Josh (Sarah) Ogden, Winona Lake; Zhenya (Vanessa) Ogden, Goshen; two daughters: Ginger (Jeremy) Byng, Goshen); and Dasha Ogden, Goshen. He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Isaac, Micah, Jacob, Lily, Riah and Rhett; and two sisters: Kathie (Jim) Jenkins, Jacksonville, Fla.; Diane (Bob) Grenfell, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald E. Ogden in 2015 and his mother Wanita Ogden in 2006.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Monday, June 11, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Monday, June 25, at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, 1200 Kings Highway, Winona Lake, and officiated by Pastor Jim Brown and Pastor Tom Miller. Private burial will take place.
