Syracuse Man Arrested For Battering Wife’s Stepfather
SYRACUSE — A Syracuse man was arrested after battering his wife’s stepfather.
Steven Gentry Ladig, 3667 East CR 1000N, Syracuse, is being charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On May 11, officers responded to a residential entry complaint in Syracuse. Ladig’s wife told officers that he was upset because she told him she wanted a divorce.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Ladig entered the residence uninvited and went downstairs to where the children were sleeping and picked up the youngest child.
Ladig’s wife’s stepfather attempted to intervene and take the child when Ladig battered him and pushed him into a wall, breaking a large hole into it.
The stepfather sustained a cut on his right ear, scratches on his neck and a bloody finger.
Ladig was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on May 11. He was released on his own recognizance and has an initial hearing date at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, June 14, in Kosciusko Superior One Court.
