Warsaw Man Arrested For Possession Of Heroin
WARSAW — A drug complaint to the Warsaw Police Department recently led to the discovery of heroin.
Marty David Collins, 23, 316 Sophie Lane, Warsaw, was booked for possession of a narcotic, a level 6 felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On May 21, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a drug complaint. The caller gave a description of a large silver car that was leaving the residence. The officer located the silver Toyota Solara and witnessed the vehicle weaving within its lane, touching the centerline. A traffic stop was then conducted.
The driver was identified as Collins, who advised he was driving left of center because he was trying to figure out what road he was on. Collins further provided conflicting answers to the officer.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, a K9 partner conducted an outer air search of the vehicle and made a positive alert. Officers searched the vehicle and found a Sharpie with a plastic bag inside of it. The plastic bag contained a powder substance that tested positive for heroin. Officers also located a red pill crusher that contained residue and a pen body that contained residue.
Collins told the officer that the substance in the Sharpie might be “boy.” The officer recognized the word “boy” as the street name for heroin.
Collins was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
