Harold D. Debolt
Harold D. Debolt, 88, Syracuse, passed away at 9:50 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born on May 15, 1930, in Plymouth to John and Jessie (Lacarte) DeBolt.
He was a lifetime Noble and Kosciusko County area resident, attended Ligonier Public Schools, and was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. On Dec. 10, 1955, in Columbia City, he married Norma R. Stabler, who survives. He retired in 1995 from Verkler Construction Company in South Bend and had worked in the construction business for 45 years.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse, Union Local 645, and former member of the Professional Bull Riders Association.
He is survived by his wife: Norma DeBolt, Syracuse; daughter: Tammy (Danny) Shoopman, Milford; two granddaughters: Stacy (Richard) Shery, Milford; Tabetha (Travis) McCoy, Etna Green; five great grandchildren.
He was preceded by in death by his parents, great granddaughter: Mackenzie McCoy; six sisters: Gladys Cripe, Peggy Neal, Alice Zumbrun, Christine Neal, Ruth Craft, and Joan Blake; and five brothers: Kenneth, Raymond, David, Robert and Francis DeBolt.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 4,in the funeral home Burial will follow in Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier with military graveside rites.
