Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
8:59 p.m. Friday, June 1, US 30 and North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Karlan D. Yoder, 21, East CR 575N, Leesburg; Hailey P. Flores, 23, Tecumseh Street, Warsaw. Yoder told police he was driving his vehicle eastbound on US 30 and came to a stop behind the vehicle driven by Flores in the left turn lane. He said he became distracted and when traffic began to move in the straight lane, he took his foot off the brake, causing his vehicle to move forward and strike Flores’ vehicle in the rear. Damage up to $5,000.
5:06 p.m. Friday, June 1, East Old Road 30 and North CR 225E, Warsaw. Drivers: Casey D. Joy, 23, East Wooster Road, Pierceton; Nathan C. Reeder, 42, Heritage Lane, Warsaw. Joy told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on CR 250E and came to a stop at the intersection of CR 250E and Old Road 30. She said she did not notice any other traffic and proceeded into the intersection, colliding with the vehicle driven by Reeder. Damage up to $10,000.
1:27 p.m. Friday, June 1, Kosciusko Drive, west of Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Woody R. Huffman, 66, East CR 500N, North Webster; John A. Voland, 80, East Backwater Road, North Webster. Huffman told police that he was driving his vehicle on Kosciusko Drive and that he stopped at the intersection of Kosciusko Drive and Old Road 30. He said he thought it was clear and turned his vehicle left and into the path of Voland’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
Winona Lake
Officers from the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
10:50 p.m. Thursday, May 31, Pierceton Road, east of South CR 250E, Winona Lake. Driver: Andrew A. Miller, 40, Groff Ave., North Manchester. Miller told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on Pierceton Road when a deer entered the roadway. He said he swerved to avoid the deer and that his vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck some small trees. Damage up to $5,000.
