Janis Ann Jenkins
Janis Ann Jenkins, 93, Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, went home to be with the Lord at 8:07 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018.
She was born on April 16, 1925, in Dayton, Ohio to Robert “Bert” Pleasant and Dessie (Moore) Pleasant. On Nov. 2, 1946 she was married to Charles Lee Jenkins, who passed away on April 12, 2000.
Mrs. Jenkins was active in ministry to Navy wives during her husband’s 18 years as a Navy chaplain, and worked as a secretary at DePuy in Warsaw for 15 years after his retirement. She was a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, enjoyed painting, music, and home decorating. Most of all she loved her family and grandchildren and will be dearly missed.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son: Jim (Kathie) Jenkins, Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter: Robin (Mark) Laurenso, Warsaw; and three grandchildren: Lisa Stoll Ron, Jonathan Stoll, and Jami Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.
There will be an hour of visitation from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw and officiated by Pastor Bruce Barlow.
