Triton Golf: Butler Paces Trojans At Hawk Invite
FORT WAYNE – Triton got in one more tournament Tuesday afternoon before the boys golf state tournament series begins. The Trojans fired a 323 to earn runner-up honors at the five-team Hawk Invite at Noble Hawk Golf Course.
DeKalb won the title with a 315, followed by Triton, host Leo (355), Garrett (371) and Eastside (440).
The Baron’s Gabe Schenk claimed medalist honors with his 71, birdieing the 17th and ending with a eagle on the 18th. Bailey Clark had a 77, Josh Daniels and 83 and Jacob Williams an 84 in the Baron’s title run.
Chase Butler paced the Trojans with a 77, aided by three birdies along the way. Isaac Wall was just behind at 79, Beau Hepler had an 81 and Keegan Westafer finished at 86.
Leo’s Reid Zimmerman paced the Lions with a 78, Garrett’s Levi Follett led the Railroaders with a 79 and Eastside’s Caleb Leeper spearheaded the Blazers with a 94.
Triton will take part in the Warsaw Golf Sectional Friday at Rozella Ford Golf Course.
