Ronald Charles Clingenpeel
Ronald Charles Clingenpeel, 71, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at his home.
He was born on Aug. 28, 1946 in St. Joseph County, to the late Lee and Martha (Stull) Clingenpeel. He has been a lifelong resident of North Liberty.
On Aug. 12, 1983 in Mishawaka, he and Sandra E. Peterson were united in marriage.
Along with his loving wife of 34 years, he is survived by one daughter: Heather M. Thomas, Dalton, Ga.; two grandchildren: Skylar M. Thomas and Jaiden Reasor; and three sisters: Sharon Zukas, Plymouth; JoAnn Kowalski, South Bend; and Janet Houser, North Liberty.
He worked in the tool & die industry for over 40 years. He was a graduate of North Liberty High School and served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Air Force. Growing up, he was an active member of 4-H and the FFA. He was a nature enthusiast, as he loved fishing, hiking the Appalachian Trail, and spending the fall in Brown County. Most importantly, he was dependable, honest, hard-working and loved his family (and dog Tramp) more than anything.
