Senior King And Queen Doubles Up
MILFORD — During Milford Fest, two senior kings and two senior queens were crowned on behalf of all they’ve done for the community. Having been local physicians for over 30 years and having contributed selflessly to the community alongside their wives, Dr. John Dick, Shirley Dick, Dr. Doug Strycker and Helen Ann Strycker were crowned senior kings and queens for 2018 Milford Fest.
Both physicians will be retiring this year. Community members wanted to take the opportunity to give them a show of gratitude they deserve. Not only were all four seniors’ contributions to Milford shared, so were comments about their professional practice and overall person.
People, from coworkers to patients to friends, commented that these four people were caring, compassionate, kind and always willing to listen. They’ve deeply touched the community in more ways than one. Patients of the doctors stated that they have a “gentle spirit,” “deserve to retire” and “will be missed.”
All four humbly accepted their crowns and sashes, amazed at the kind words and recognition from their friends and neighbors.
Milford Fest brings people from all over, together in one place to have a good time with good people. Local residents get the opportunity to run into neighbors and old friends while out-of-towners visit annually for the fun atmosphere and family activities. One of the favorite things visitors appreciate about the vent is that there’s something for everyone, no matter their age.
“We love Milford Fest,” said Rhonda Wilson, Elkhart. “We love coming here every year and look forward to it. It’s fun.”
“It’s a fun place for everyone to hangout,” commented Armando Rodriguez, Milford. “You can just be with your friends and there’s lots of stuff to do.”
