Robert D. Lozier — UPDATED
Robert D. Lozier, known to many as “Bob,” was called home on Friday, May 25, from his Warsaw residence. He passed away at 10:30 a.m. at the age of 90.
He was the son of Harry and Bertha (Snell) Lozier. He graduated from Leesburg High School with the class of 1946 and spent his lifetime in the Leesburg and Warsaw area.
On Dec. 10, 1950, Lozier was united in marriage to G. Jean Helser. Jean and Bob spent more than 35 years together before her passing on Dec. 13, 1987. To their union, three children were born and many happy memories were made. Lozier was blessed to find love twice and was married to Jane Kistler on Nov. 8, 2003. The pair shared 14 years together before his Friday morning passing.
Lozier was a dairy and grain farmer, an honest and hardworking man and a lover of the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed time fishing in Birchwood, Wisconsin, on Chapman Lake and in Florida where he and his wife traveled each year. He always enjoyed traveling and, even during the dairy’s busiest years, was sure to make time to take his family camping. He enjoyed the quiet times too – tending to his vegetable garden, mowing the yard and reading the novels of Louis L’Amor.
Lozier wasn’t just a family man, he was active in his community and held a strong faith in Christ. He was a proud member of Warsaw Elks and Warsaw Moose Lodge. He was the past Director and President of Kosciusko County Farm Bureau and Director of Associated Milk Producers, Inc., where he also served on numerous corporate and regional boards. Bob was the President of Milk Promotion Services of Indiana and a longtime member of North Winona Church of the Brethren.
