Tenth Annual Northern Indiana Lakes Festival Scheduled For Memorial Day Weekend
WARSAW — The tenth annual Northern Indiana Lakes Festival will be held Memorial Day weekend at Center Lake Park, 117 E. Canal St., Warsaw.
Festivities will begin at noon on Friday, May 25, and end at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 27. Friday night’s entertainment will be provided by country band Cornfield Mafia.
Saturday will start off with a rain barrel workshop at 9:30 a.m. Participants will build a rain barrel to take home with them. Pre-registration is required, and seating is limited. Visit the Lakes Festival Facebook page to sign up for this year’s workshop.
At 10:15 a.m. Saturday, May 36, the first ever Lakes Festival parade will begin.
Astound Dance Studio, Echoes of the Past, an antique tractor group and Warsaw High School FFA will have floats. The parade will begin on Center Street, go through downtown Warsaw, and return to Center Lake Park on Indiana Street.
Numerous events, workshops and booths will open at 11 a.m., including bounce houses and Art Around the Lakes. A petting zoo and face painting will be available. Silly Safari with Coyote Chris will feature two shows, at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Starting at 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening, there will be live performances by three bands.
At sunset, a fireworks show will begin, with fireworks synced to music.
Throughout the weekend, competitions will be held, including a volleyball tournament, 5K run, kayak races and canoe races. Visit lakegames.org for more information and to register for these events.
The weekend event will finish at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 27, with a performance by the Lake City Skiers.
