Syracuse Elementary’s Sixth Annual Relay For Life
SYRACUSE — Syracuse Elementary’s sixth annual Relay for Life Walk-A-Thon raised $10,544.23 Friday, May 11.
Children collect pledges for the American Cancer Society. They pledge to walk 30 minutes at the Walk-A-Thon at their school. During the event, they receive a bracelet with the theme of the year displayed on it. This year’s theme was, “I’m a cancer fighting superhero!” During the Walk-A-Thon, the children dance, walk and use noisemakers to “make noise to fight cancer.”
This is a great way for students to realize they can make a difference in their community.
