Milford Fest 2018
MILFORD — The local community’s annual Milford Fest will fill the streets of Milford Memorial Day weekend from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 26. Milford Fest is organized by the Milford Lions Club and is sponsored by the Milford Lions, the town of Milford, Beer & Jessop Amusements, Chore Time Brock, Phend & Brown, The Papers Inc. and other local businesses, individuals and organizations.
Milford Fest is an all-day event for people who want to have a full day of fun.
Milford Kiwanis will host its traditional pancake and sausage breakfast from 6 to 10 a.m. at the community building, energizing those who want to rummage through the community wide garages sales from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Friends of the Library is hosting a book sale at the Milford Public Library from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., a way to support the local library.
Registration for the car, tractor and motorcycle show is open from 9 to 11 a.m. at a $10 entry fee. Categories for judging include best motorcycle and truck, best antique tractor, oldest vehicle and several additional categories.
Judging will take place from noon to 2 p.m. with awards distributed at 3 p.m.
A variety of food and arts and crafts vendors will line the streets from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Get free pony rides 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., then grab a rib-eye steak sandwich at the fire station from 11 a.m. until sold out.
Free carnival rides will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For those working up an appetite, grab dinner with the Milford Lions. They’ll be selling hamburgers, sausage burgers and brats from 4 to 8 p.m.
Live Entertainment
Sign-in for the cutie king, queen, prince and princess will take place from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. at the Main Street Stage. Free pre-registration forms are required and located at the Milford Public Library, the town clerk’s office, or downloaded at www.milfordfest.org. Participants must be within the Milford School district to win and pre-registration forms must be submitted no later than Thursday, May 24.
The cutie contest will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. The contest is a way to support the youth in the community.
Check-in for the Milford Talent Showcase from 10:45 to 11 a.m. The showcase is open to all communities, ages and forms of talent, though no pets should be allowed to participate. Each performer will be allowed a total of three minutes to perform and contestants must be checked in 15 minutes before the contest begins. The talent will be judged based on personality, execution and originality, rhythm and sound and overall impression.
Registration for the talent show should be turned in no later than Thursday, May 24, to the Milford Public Library or Milford Town Hall.
The talent showcase will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Living Word, a gospel singing group, will provide live music from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. followed by the Spaniels from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m.
The announcement and crowning of the senior king and queen will take the stage from 2:15 to 2:30 p.m. before the Spaniels return at 3:30 p.m.
Quentin Flagg takes over with high-energy singing and dancing from the ‘50s, ‘60s and more from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Finishing out the night of live entertainment is a street dance featuring Big Daddy Dupree and the Broke & Hungry Blues Band from 5:45 to 9 p.m.
