Rain Barrel Workshop Offered During Lakes Festival
WARSAW — As part of the Northern Indiana Lakes Festival the Clean Waters Partnership will host two Utilize the Rain for Your Personal Gain rain barrel workshops at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at Center Lake Pavilion. Learn the benefits of capturing rain for yourself and our area lakes from local water experts.
A rain barrel is a container used to collect and store rainwater that would otherwise be lost to runoff and likely diverted to a storm drain. Collected rainwater may then be used to water lawns and gardens.
The workshop will be a hands-on learning experience for the entire family. The $20 cost of the workshop will cover all necessary tools to transform your rain barrel, so no need to bring anything but your desire to save your lakes.
Pre-registration is required and seating is limited. Contact Dugan Julian at (574) 372-5100 ext 6452 or at [email protected] for payment information or other questions.
Special thanks to Project Rain Barrel, The River Network, as well as Clean Waters Partnership members: The Center for Lakes & Streams, The Watershed Foundation, Kosciusko Soil and Water Conservation District, City of Warsaw Stormwater Utility and KC Recycling Depot.
