Cruisin’ Cuse Car Show Saturday, Celebrates 30 years
SYRACUSE — The 30th annual Cruisin’ Cuse Car, Motorcycle and Truck Show will be held Saturday, May 19, at the Syracuse Community Center, 1013 N. Long Drive , Syracuse. Registration will be from 8-11:30 a.m. with awards presented between 2:30-3 p.m. This event for cars, motorcycles and trucks is known as “The biggest little show in Indiana.”
The event is open to the public with free admission.
Participants can enter into the following classes: Pre-1935 street rod, 1935-48 street rod, custom car and low rider, modified truck, original truck, youth truck or car where the owner is 21 and under, modified Tri 5 Chevrolet 1955-57, classic foreign pre 1993, foreign 1993 to present, original collector pre 1955, original collector 1955-92, late model original 1993-present, muscle car original, muscle car modified, Mustang 1964-93, Mustang 1994 to present, Camaro 1967-81, Camaro 1982-present, Corvette 1953-67, Corvette 1968-96, Corvette 1997-present, AMC/Mopar pre 1993 original, AMC/Mopar 1993-present, street machine including pro street, special interest, Pontiac Pre 1993, motorbike and Jeep Wrangler modified.
There will be door prizes from area merchants and a $100 cash prize for the best of show, donated by Hoosier Hot Rods.
The cost is $15 per entry. For those wishing to enter as a non-judged vehicle the cost is $8. T-shirts are also available at a cost of $17.
Trophies will include Best of Show, Kiwanis Choice, Police Chief’s Choice, Best Engine, Best Paint, Best Interior and Best Engineered Hot Rod.
Following the awards and press photos, a cruise around the lake will begin at approximately 3:30 p.m. Those wishing to participate should line up facing north on Long Drive. The cruise will start at Northshore Drive, turning south on Eastshore Drive and onto Pickwick Drive. At Harkless Drive, the cruise will head south to Bowser Road to SR 13 and then north on SR 13, through town to Main Street and back to the community center.
There will be a cruise in on Main Street, downtown Syracuse, from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 18. There is no cost to participate.
All proceeds from the event go to Wawasee Kiwanis designated charities: Riley Hospital, Teen Parents Succeeding, Syracuse Community Center, scholarships, baseball/softball youth league, Harold Shrock Youth Complex, food baskets for those in need and more.
