Kenneth J. “Kenny John” Simmons, 37, Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018, at his residence. He was born on Feb. 5, 1981, in Providence, R.I. to Kenneth J. and Linda S. (Ford) Simmons.
He graduated from East Providence High School in East Providence, R.I. and served in the United States Army for six years, deploying to both Iraq and Afghanistan. He was married Oct. 15, 2012 in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Keithsha Williams, who survives. He moved to the Fort Wayne area one year ago from Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, Keithsha Simmons, Harlingen, Texas; son: Kenneth Simmons, Mass.; mother: LInda DeCarvalho, Fort Wayne; two sisters: Laura DeCosta, Fort Wayne; Elsie (Jim) McGin, Pawtucket, R.I.; brother, David Simmons, Woonsocket, R.I.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Military honors will follow at 7 p.m.
