Warsaw Golf: Tigers Top Panthers
NAPPANEE – The Warsaw boys golf team picked up a big league win Thursday night.
The Tigers used a consistent team effort to top host NorthWood in a key Northern Lakes Conference match at the McCormick Creek Golf Course.
Warsaw shot a 163 in the varsity event to best the Panthers by five strokes to remain unbeaten in NLC play.
Chase Byron led the way for coach Rich Haddad’s team with a 40.
The trio of Luke Delp, Tommy Meier and Jacob LaLonde each shot a 41 for the Tigers. Sam Yeager had a 43 for Warsaw.
Sean Hogan of NorthWood earned individual medalist honors with a 38.
The Warsaw junior varsity team beat NorthWood 183-187. Zach LaLonde led the way with a 41 as the JV team improved to 3-0 in the conference. Tucker Carlile shot a 43, Cole Voss 46, Noah Pequignot 53 and Mason Whitaker 56.
The Warsaw varsity, which is 3-0 in the NLC, will compete in the Culver Academy Invitational on Saturday. The Warsaw JV will take part in the Westville JV Invitational in LaPorte, also on Saturday.
