Warsaw Track: Fleming Going To Indiana Tech
WARSAW – The flurry of local athletes making college decisions continued as Warsaw senior distance star Justin Fleming will continue to pound the northern Indiana pavement in his collegiate years, signing a letter of intent to attend Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne.
Fleming earned All Northern Lakes Conference selection distinction in two events in Tuesday’s NLC Championships, speeding through the tape winning the 1,600 meter run and running a let of the winning 4×400 Relay.
A four-year letter winner for coach Jim Mills and Tiger cross country and a two-year letter winner for coach Matt Thacker’s Tiger track and field program, Fleming has been tireless with his service to the school and community. A member of the Warsaw Community Church as a WCC hospitality team volunteer, Fleming also volunteers with Fellowship Baptist Church Youth Group, the Tiger Student Athletic Board, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Eisenhower Elementary School volunteer.
The National Honor Society member with an impressive 12.21 GPA on a 12-point scale, Fleming earned a WCS Citizenship Award his junior year, will earn Honors and Technical Honors, was named a DARE Role Model, Summa Cum Laude Honors, and he earned an Indiana Tech Engineering & Computer Science Scholarship.
Intending to major in Mechanical Engineering, Fleming will compete for Indiana Tech cross country coach Josh Wolfe and Warriors track & field coach Doug Edgar. Indiana Tech is a member of the NAIA and the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference.
