Warsaw Couple Faces Drug Charges After Warsaw Man Reported As Unresponsive
WARSAW — Two Warsaw residents are facing charges after officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a call regarding an unresponsive male subject.
Both Christian R. Johnson, 29, 403 N. Columbia St., Warsaw; and Ashly Danielle Johnson, 27, also of 403 N. Columbia St,. Warsaw, are being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on March 9, WPD officers, who were responding to the report of an unresponsive male subject, arrived at the Columbia Street address to find the male lying in bed awake. The subject was identified as Christian Johnson.
While at the residence, officers could smell the odor of marijuana. They spoke with Ashly Johnson at the residence, who identified herself as Christian Johnson’s wife. She admitted she had smoked marijuana earlier in the day. She advised she did not know why Christian Johnson was unresponsive.
After obtaining permission to search the room, officers discovered a glass smoking device with residue and burn marks, five small plastic baggies with white residue, two cut straws with white residue, a cap to a syringe and assorted unknown medication that appeared to be old.
The white residue on the glass smoking device and plastic bags field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Christian Johnson admitted the methamphetamine pipe belonged to him and stated he was not sure why he overdosed. An officer then spoke with the Ashly Johnson, who admitted that they both shared the methamphetamine pipe.
