Goshen Relays Set For Saturday
GOSHEN – Both the Wawasee and NorthWood girls track teams will be among those competing Saturday in the Goshen Relays.
The 29th running of the annual event at Foreman Field is slated to begin at 9 a.m.
The field includes the host RedHawks, along with Wawasee, NorthWood, Angola, Bremen, Concord, Culver Academy, Fairfield, Mishawaka Marian, New Prairie, Penn, South Bend Adams, South Bend Clay, South Bend Washington and Wabash.
South Bend Adams won the Class A championship a year ago, while Fairfield is the defending champion in Class B.
The honorary referee for the Relays will be long-time Goshen track volunteer Lee Wynn. Wynn, who works the finish line every year at the Relays, is a 1983 Goshen High School graduate. She ran both track and cross country at Goshen and is a former assistant coach to both Rick Clark and Carl Weaver for the girls track programs.
Wynn’s husband Mike is a former standout runner at Goshen and the boys and girls cross country coach for the RedHawks.
