Parkview Health Named One Of America’s Best Employers By Forbes Magazine
FORT WAYNE — Parkview Health has been named one of America’s Best Employers in 2018 by Forbes Magazine.
The America’s Best Employers list ranks the top 500 employers across 25 industries. Parkview Health was ranked No. 93 overall and No. 14 in the healthcare and social services industry, which is capped at 25 organizations. To compile the list, Forbes conducted an independent and anonymous online survey of nearly 30,000 full-time and part-time workers at companies with more than 1,000 employees in their U.S. operations.
“Parkview’s culture encourages engagement, professional development, inclusion and innovation,” said Mike Packnett, president and CEO, Parkview Health. “We are committed to providing a workplace our co-workers can be proud of and one that reflects our mission to serve others. We are honored to be named among America’s best, and we’ll continue to foster a culture where our co-workers feel valued and respected.”
Parkview Health was the only organization in the region to be recognized by Forbes and the only organization in the state to be named in the healthcare and social services industry. Parkview was ranked second-highest in the state, following Lilly at No. 57 in the drugs and biotechnology industry.
Evaluations were based on two distinct criteria:
1. Direct recommendations: Employees were asked their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. The responses were analyzed on a scale from 0 to 10, where 0 means “I wouldn’t recommend my employer under any circumstances” and 10 means “I would definitely recommend my employer.”
2. Indirect recommendations: Participants were also prompted to evaluate other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively.
Furthermore, employees were asked to give their opinions on a series of statements surrounding work-related topics on working conditions, salary, potential for development and company image regarding their current employer. The rate of agreement/disagreement regarding the statements was measured on a five point Likert scale.
“It is incredibly rewarding to know that this recognition is based not only on feedback from our own co-workers but also those in the community,” said Dena Jacquay, chief human resources officer, Parkview Health. “Creating a culture that is valued by our co-workers and visible even to those outside of Parkview is truly a testament to our organization’s positive impact on the communities we serve.”
