Neva Irene Akers, 92, Warsaw passed away at 2:55 p.m., April 30, 2018, in Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw.
She was born Aug. 1, 1925, in Paintsville, Ky. to Edgar and Grace (Whitaker) Hannah. On Oct. 28, 1942, in Paintsville, Ky. she was united in marriage to Grundy Logan Akers, who preceded her on May 10, 1993.
She formerly worked for Gatke Corporation and Warsaw Coil. She was a member of the United Baptist Church in Silver Lake.
She is survived by her children; Joyce Ann (Vern) Prater, Warsaw; Linda Lou (Rick) Cook, North Webster; Hazel Akers, Warsaw; and James Henry (Barb) Akers, Warsaw. She is further survived by five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her husband; sons; William Logan and Jerry Dale; along with granddaughters Elizabeth Prater and Cheryl Blair; and great grandchildren Christopher Jefferson and Callie Akers.
Visitation will be held in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel from 5-7 p.m., Warsaw Wednesday, May 2. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 3, in Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton with Pastor William Whitaker officiating.
