Etna Green Man Arrested For Possession Of A Narcotic
KOSCIUSKO — An Etna Green man was arrested after officers found heroin in his backpack.
Trent Ryan Furnivall, 29, 216 N. Walnut St., Etna Green, also showing an address of 56915 CR 14, Elkhart, is being charged with possession of a narcotic drug, a level 6 felony; and visiting a common nuisance, a class B misdemeanor.
On Dec. 23, 2017, officers responded to a report of a drug overdose.
When officers arrived, they observed a male subject administering CPR to a male who had overdosed. Officers provided medical assistance until medical personnel arrived and transported the male to the hospital, where he later died.
The male subject advised that Furnivall lived at the residence. Furnivall was present at the time of the overdose.
Officers obtained a search warrant and searched the residence. Officers found a glass methamphetamine smoking pipe, a hypodermic syringe and drug paraphernalia in the deceased male’s room.
They found two digital scales and two plastic bags containing methamphetamine in the male subject’s room. Drug paraphernalia was also located in the living room and kitchen.
Officers found two plastic bags with white residue in Furnivall’s backpack. One of the bags field-tested positive for heroin.
Furnivall was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on April 26, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
