Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
12:30 a.m. Friday, April 27, West US 30, east of North Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. Driver: Linda K. Alcock, 59, North CR 350E, Columbia City. Alcock’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $1,000.
10:27 a.m. Thursday, April 26, North Old SR 15, Leesburg. Drivers: Lisa M. Barber, 51, Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw, and Trista F. Clevenger, 34, East River Avenue, Warsaw. Barber’s vehicle struck Clevenger’s vehicle as Barber was backing out of a parking space. Damage up to $5,000.
5:53 a.m. Thursday, April 26, North CR 850 E, south of East Hatchery Road, Syracuse. Driver: Natalie M. Trail, 20, East Hatchery Road, Syracuse. Trail advised she was traveling southbound on CR 850 E when she observed a large, deceased raccoon in the southbound lane which caused her to swerve. Her vehicle left the roadway, colliding with an REMC utility pole. Damage up to $10,000.
6:51 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, West US 30 and North CR 650W, Warsaw. Driver: Ilaris I. Milan, 20, South Meade Avenue, Oak Lawn, Ill. Milan advised she was traveling west on US 30 when a turkey flew into the path of her vehicle striking the windshield and front left fender. Glass did come into the interior of the vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
3:24 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, East CR 875N, west of North CR 550E, Syracuse. Driver: Elizabeth P. Dennis, 16, EMS D18C Lane, Syracuse. Dennis advised a deer crossed her path of travel. Dennis swerved to avoid striking the deer, causing her vehicle to slide on the dirt and gravel roadway. Dennis’ vehicle left the south side of CR 875N striking an REMC utility pole while traveling sideways. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
10:25 a.m. Friday, April 27, East Main Street, south of North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Robert G. Walmer, 66, Connors Court, Warsaw, and Brian K. Stalder, 46, Sunset Drive, Warsaw. The vehicles collided at the intersection. Damage up to $10,000.
3:22 p.m. Thursday, April 26, SR 15, north of Plaza Drive. Drivers: John J. Lowman, 64, North Walnut, Burket, and Seth E. Biltz, 36, East CR 650S, Pierceton. Biltz’s vehicle turned left onto SR 15. When Biltz made the turn, Lowman’s vehicle, which was on the opposite side of SR 15, turned south at the same time, causing both vehicles to collide in the center of SR 15. Damage up to $25,000.
1:18 p.m. Thursday, April 26, SR 15, north of East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Leayre M. Moore, 25, North Wildthorn Court, Columbia City, and Dawson L. Wright, 18, Warner Street, Claypool. Moore’s vehicle rear-ended Wright’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
