Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
4:56 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, West CR 900N, east of North SR 15, Leesburg. Drivers: Milton D. Torres Perez, 36, Stonewall Court, Nappanee, Roberta L. Anderson, 53, Brook View Avenue, Warsaw. Both Torres Perez and Anderson told police that each were driving their vehicles westbound on CR 900N and brought their vehicles to a stop. Torres Perez then began to back his vehicle up and it collided with Anderson’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
11:29 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, North SR 15, south of CR 600N, Warsaw. Drivers: Nelson G. Hoover, 17, CR11, Elkhart, Elisamuel Garcia, 42, Kuder Lane, Warsaw. Hoover told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on SR 15 when Garcia’s vehicle became stopped to turn left. Hoover was unable to stop his vehicle before it rear-ended Garcia’s vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
12:42 p.m. Sunday, April 22, North SR 19 and West CR 800N, Etna Green. Driver: Michael S. Kauffman, 52, Quince Road, South Bend. Kauffman told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on SR 19 when at the intersection of West 800N, the vehicle went off to the right side of the pavement. Once the vehicle left the roadway it tumbled, coming to rest in a cornfield. Kaufman was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Damage up to $10,000.
Marshall
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
4:51 a.m. Sunday, April 22, 13th Road and Olive Trail, Plymouth. Driver: Tyler Richard Bernard Thomas, 20, Plymouth. Police were advised that Thomas was driving a truck in the area, turned around at the intersection to stage a burnout and then lost control of the truck. The truck went through the property of the victim and collided with the residence. Thomas was arrested for operating a vehicle with a BAC of .15 or more.
Milford
Officers with the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:
10:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, North SR 15, north of West CR 900N, Milford. Driver: Johnnie R. Salisbury, 64, James Street, Milford. Salisbury told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on SR 15 when he passed a vehicle hauling gravel. The loose gravel hit Salisbury’s vehicle, causing damage and breaking his windshield. Salisbury told police it was a dump truck, but that he couldn’t identify the vehicle or driver. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
1:33 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, Anchorage Road, south of East US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Felipe Flores, 72, Anchorage Road, Warsaw, Lasca Randels, 52, North Vicky Lane, Warsaw. Flores told police that while driving his vehicle northbound on Anchorage Road, he began suffering chest pains causing him to lose control of his vehicle and rear-end Randels’ vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
