North Webster Library Caters To Bargain Hunters
NORTH WEBSTER — For bargain enthusiasts, Friends of the North Webster Community Public Library is planning a big book sale April 26-28. Deal hunters can find hundreds of good quality, gently-used books for all ages, along with movie DVDs, music CDs and puzzles.
All genres are represented to satisfy everyone’s tastes. Aside from the benefit of low bargain prices, all proceeds will go to support the work of the library. Sale location is the North Webster Community Center Banquet Hall with sale hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Those interested are encourage to stock up and get ready for a summer of great reading.
Get ready for a fun girls afternoon out and purchase a ticket for the Ladies Tea, to be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 10. Attendees will experience a traditional afternoon tea with light pastries, lovely table service and friendly conversation. Everyone is asked to bring a favorite tea cup and saucer and to wear a fun tea party hat. The tickets cost $7 and must be purchased in advance since there will be no ticket sales at the door. Tickets are currently available at the library circulation desk.
The Voyager Book Club will meet at 10 a.m. Monday, April 23, to discuss authors’ first books. Anyone whose read one lately can bring it to the meeting to share and discuss.
On Tuesday, April 24, Revolving Recipe Round-Up will be held, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Those interested in attending are encourage to bring a favorite dish to share. This month, everyone is encouraged to prepare a recipe with egg as an ingredient. The club meets the fourth Tuesday each month.
Children can be treated to a free night at the movies at the library to see a 2017 animated comedy film about a giant bull with a big heart on a big adventure. Even the popcorn is free, and everyone is welcome to bring their own drinks. The movie is rated PG and runs 108 minutes.
