Jessie Gene Ousley, Sr.
Jessie Gene Ousley, Sr., 62, passed away in his Athens home at 2:55 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018.
He was born on March 21, 1956 in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Warren Ousley, Sr. and Fannie (Rose) Ousley. He attended Akron schools and spent most of his adult life in the Akron and Rochester areas.
On July 11, 1987, Ousley Sr. and Theresa Prater were joined in marriage by Chad Burkhart in Packerton.
He loved his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed time spent outside hunting and fishing. As a young man, he worked baling hay and straw. He spent several years in construction before becoming a welder for Par-Kan and Ameri-Can.
Those left with memories to cherish include his wife, Theresa; a son, Jessie Ousley Jr., Rochester; two step-daughters: Dana Honeycutt, Englewood, Fla., and Laurie (Homer) King, Rochester; two step-sons: Joseph (Rebecca) Books, Macy, and Jason Honeycutt, Rochester; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 6 step great-grandchildren and 4 brothers: Bennie (Nan) Ousley, Macy, Tim Ousley, Jimmy Ousley, and Jeffrey Burns, all of Rochester.
He was preceded in passing by his father, Warren Ousley Sr.; and mother, Fannie (Rose) Burns; 2 brothers: Warren Ousley, Jr. and Tommy Ousley; a sister, Renee Cox, and a step-great grandson, Avery.
Friends and family will gather for a time of sharing from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24 in Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan St., Warsaw. A funeral service will follow, beginning at 3 p.m. with Pastor Danny Honeycutt of The House of Prayer officiating.
