Warsaw Man Arrested After Battering Female
KOSCIUSKO — A Warsaw man was arrested after battering a female late last month.
Austen Everett Alan Lyke, 23, 3205 Heron Blvd., Warsaw, is being charged with domestic battery in the presence of a child under the age of 16, a level 6 felony, and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On March 30, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a domestic battery call at Lyke’s residence. Upon arrival, a female advised that she had confronted Lyke about smoking marijuana in the residence.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the female tried to get into her vehicle to grab her cell phone to call the police. Lyke rushed to the front door and blocked her from going to the vehicle. Lyke then shoved the female in the chest, sending her backwards, which caused pain to her hip.
The battery occured within hearing distance of four minor children. The female was able to flee the residence on foot.
Lyke was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on April 12, with a $5,750 surety and cash bond. A no contact order was issued between Lyke and the victim.
