Plymouth Man Arrested After Strangling And Beating Girlfriend
KOSCIUSKO — A Plymouth man was arrested after strangling and beating his girlfriend.
Griffin Forrest Sterling, 41, 2220 Lake Ave., Plymouth, is being charged with strangulation, domestic battery with moderate bodily injury, and intimidation, all level 6 felonies.
On Feb. 18, officers responded to a battery complaint at Warsaw Parkview Hospital. Officers spoke with a female subject who had bruises on her legs, arms, hands, back, neck and forehead.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the female and her boyfriend, Sterling, were at her residence when they began to argue. Sterling used his fists to hit her several times and put his hands around her neck, squeezing to the point that she lost consciousness.
While holding a meat cleaver, Sterling told the female that if she said anything about this to her daughter or to the cops, he would kill her.
Officers accompanied the female to her residence after she was discharged from the hospital. They located Sterling upstairs with a very swollen right hand. He stated that he had injured himself while punching the floor.
Sterling was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on April 11, with a $6,500 surety and cash bond.
