Old Jail Museum Hosting Guided Tour On John Dillinger
WARSAW — In case you didn’t know, John Dillinger was in Warsaw April 13, 1934.
Dillinger was an infamous bank robber in 1933 and 1934. He was the most hunted man in America because of the many banks he robbed and his use of deadly force. He came to Warsaw in the middle of the night on a mission to steal bulletproof vests.
Tonight, April 13, you can go on a guided tour tracing Dillinger’s steps as he forced police officer Jud Pittenger to take him and Home Van Meter to the police station to get the vests.
Tours will leave every 15 minutes from the Old Jail Museum, 121 N. Indiana St., Warsaw, starting at 6:30 p.m., with the last tour group leaving at 8:30 p.m.
Cost is $2 per person and children ages 12 and under can attend for free. Proceeds go to help the Kosciusko County Historical Society continue its valuable work of preserving history.
