Brian H. ‘LH’ Hyndman
Brian H. “LH” Hyndman, 58, Columbia City, died unexpectedly at 12:27 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018, at his home, of natural causes.
He was born May 28, 1959, in Columbia City, a son of the late Chester R. and Josephine (Davis) Hyndman. He spent his formative years in Columbia City and graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1977. He continued his education and became a journeyman lineman.
On Oct. 10, 1991, he was united in marriage to Darcy Sue Roberts. They have always made their home in Columbia City.
He was employed by the Columbia City Electric Department for 25 years retiring in 2002. He then became self-employed in the lawn care business.
He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #1417 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1906. He loved to fish and played golf in the Crooked Lake Golf Leagues. He enjoyed NASCAR and followed IU Basketball and Colts Football. He was a John Wayne fan, watching any movie that featured the “Duke.”
He is survived by his wife, Darcy; a son, Justin Hyndman; a daughter, Nicole (Justin Blaugh) Hyndman, Columbia City; a sister, Christine D. Nickolson, Columbia City; two brothers, Philip (Linda) Hyndman and Wayne “Yogi” (Gloria) Hyndman, both of Columbia City.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Smith & Son Funeral Home, Columbia City. An Elks service will immediately follow the visitation. Burial will take place at a later date in the Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City.
