Goshen Man Arrested After Car Chase
WARSAW — A Goshen man faces multiple charges after leading police officers from several department on a cross-county chase last night, April 11, before colliding with one of the vehicles.
Jared Marc Borkholder, 32, 14121 CR 36, Goshen, is charged with resisting law enforcement, battery to law enforcement, resisting law enforcement using a vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
According to police, Borkholder was driving a 2002 Cadillac and was being pursued by officers from the Indiana State Police, Warsaw Police Department and Winona Lake Police Department after 9 p.m. Wednesday night. A Warsaw police car driven by Trenton Shively was stopped at the intersection of Kosciusko Drive and CR 175E.
The police report said Borkholder veered his vehicle to the right, causing it to strike the center-front and right front corner of the vehicle driven by Shively.
Police said the right front wheel of Borkholder’s vehicle separated and traveled several hundred feet to the west on the south side of Kosciusko Drive. Borkholder’s vehicle continued northwest bound into the ditch on the north side of Kosciusko Drive before coming to rest against a mailbox.
Police took Borkholder into custody at that time. Neither Borkholder nor Shively were injured in the crash.
