Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
5:03 p.m. Friday, April 6, West CR 1050N and North CR 500W, Nappanee. Drivers: Beverly J. Hoffer, 80, North CR 750W, Nappanee, Daniel Borntrager, 56, North CR 425W, Milford. Hoffer told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on CR 500W and didn’t see the stop sign at CR 1050N. As a result, she drove her vehicle into the path of Borntrager’s vehicle, causing the collision. Hoffer complained of chest pain at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
6:04 a.m. Friday, April 6, North SR 13, north of East Old Road 30, Pierceton. Driver: John R. Helton, 47, West CR 950S, Silver Lake. Helton told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. He said he was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Damage up to $2,500.
4:37 a.m. Friday, April 6, North CR 450E, south of CR 100N, Warsaw. Driver: Barbara J. Rogers, 30, Monroe Street, Monroeville. Rogers told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on CR 450E when a deer entered the roadway and struck her vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
5:47 a.m. Thursday, April 5, East CR 450N and North Maple Way, Warsaw. Driver: Kristen N. Allen, 46, Northeast Wawasee Drive, Syracuse. Allen told police she was driving her vehicle westbound on CR 450N when a deer entered the roadway. She said she was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
5:30 p.m. Friday, April 6, SR 15, north of East CR 350N, Warsaw. Drivers: Jayro N. Rodriguez, 30, East CR 200N, Warsaw, Andres G. Ramirez, 50, South Morgan Street, Mentone. Rodriguez told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on SR 15 approaching the intersection of SR 15 and CR 350N and looked down for a second. He said when he looked back up, traffic had stopped and although he tried to brake and swerve to avoid a collision, his vehicle struck the rear end of Ramirez’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
4:36 p.m. Friday, April 6, South Maple Street and East Smith Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Amy L. Hobbs, 49, South CR 25W, Warsaw, Darrell L. Danford, 48, West CR 200S, Warsaw. Hobbs told police she was driving her vehicle eastbound on Smith Street and attempted to make a left turn onto Maple Ave. Upon making the turn, Hobbs’ vehicle struck Danford’s vehicle on its front driver’s side corner. Damage up to $10,000.
12:18 p.m. Friday, April 6, East Center Street and Eastlake Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Anthony D. Schuller, 63, South CR 275E, Warsaw, Robert A. Stokes, 84, North Leiby Lane, Warsaw. Schuller told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on Center Street and did not see the vehicle driven by Stokes. Schuller attempted a left turn onto Eastlake Drive, causing his vehicle to collide with the vehicle driven by Stokes. Damage up to $5,000.
