Alvin C. Coby — UPDATED
Alvin C. Coby, 93, Culver, and formerly of Rochester, died at 1:05 p.m., April 3, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver, where he had been in declining health. He was born on March 31, 1925, in rural Fulton County, Indiana to Otis Coby and Ina (Reinholt) Coby and had lived most of life in Fulton County.
He worked at Culver Military Academy as an upholsterer in the Canvas Shop for over 50 years.
Mr. Coby was a life member of the Western Beagle Club; and was a graduate of Monterey High School with the class of 1943.
He is survived by his brothers: Orval Coby, Leesburg; Norman (Marilyn) Coby, Plymouth; Jay Coby, Rochester; Vernon (Jean Coby) Culver; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Marvin, Gust and Homer Coby.
Friends may visit with the family from noon-2 p.m., Friday, April 6, at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home in Argos. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the Leiters Ford Cemetery.
